Help getting a van

Hello everyone,
I need to buy a used van this weekend, and I'm stuck between an e-250 and e-350 gas engines, what should i get a 4.6v8 or 5.4v8 triton?
I have a window tint business (residential and commercial windows, not cars) and i make sometimes very long trips (50miles/day average), I need a van good in gas (MPG), realiable at work when it comes loading boxes and window tint equipment (500-1500 lbs), and easy to maintain.
Are there any problems with 2000-2004 models? any factory recalls I should look for?
