1994 Camry XLE - Loud Clicking when In Gearrusty-c 11-26-2006, 03:20 PM Well, here is a new one for me. My son was driving home last evening and without warning a clicking sound started to occur, it grew louder, and he said the car began to shake. He pulled over, and took it out of gear and the clicking stopped. This all occured without warning and in the distance of about a half mile. We trailered it and brought it home. I had him put it in reverse and the clicking picked right up, and to me sounded as if it was coming from the transaxle area. Any ideas would be appreciated. The solution has been found......It appears that the moron that installed the new trany failed to insert all of the bolts that connect the inner cv joint to the tranny so the whole mess came loose. Found one bolt laying on the cross member and all the remaining holes were dirty with the exception of one. Really didn't need teh other 4 for the first 12,000 miles anyway....... Brian R. 11-29-2006, 04:13 AM Thanks for the update. RIP 11-29-2006, 04:30 AM I drove a car 900 miles pulling a dual axle UHaul trailer years ago with the wheel nuts finger tight on the left front. 20 miles from my destination the front end started wobbling. Pulled over and found the nuts loose. Only had myself to blame cause I worked on the brakes the day before. I was shakin my head for quite a while. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
