brake leak

hey everyone, been awhile since i've been on here with any problems, but my trusty '94 Eighty-Eight LSS never fails to deliver.

I've had a brake leak for some time now, about 6 months. I'd have to add brake fluid about every month or so, but lately that gap has been shrinking, and now its only about a week before my light comes on again.

I found where it's leaking from: right where the master cylinder connects to the brake booster.

Could this be a bad gasket or something? Should I replace the master cylinder? I'm selling the car in the spring because, although the engline runs great, overall the car has been a complete money pit.

You have to understand that I HATE spending money :p

Thanks!

You have to understand that EVERY car REQUIRES maintenance... maintenance=money. Why get another car just to repeat all the maintenance that you've put into this one? If it runs right for the most part, and looks decent, then why bother?

Anyway, If you see a drip b/w the MC and BB, remove the two bolts that connect the MC to the BB. If there is fluid in the space, then you will have to replace the MC. However, be sure to check the seals between the MC and the fluid resevoir. Those seals can go bad, create a drip, and the drip will run down the MC to where it meets the BB and then pool and drip.

New MC= ~$40
New resevoir seals=? Not sure but probably less than $5 and much easier to replace.
