I am a new member and i realize some things..........
no one seems to know wtf is wrong with my jeep !I dont, my wheelin buddies dont, and different mechanics say it runs fine, however i have been driving it and i know deep down inside something awful is going to be produced by ignoring my problem.:shakehead

So, the problem. where do i begin....... it sounds like a couple differnt problems, first maybe a transmission problem, it doesnt completely stall, but it has a rough shift, or maybe its lack of power when i accelerate. It's not smooth off the line, first gear is okay, i have a little power but when i push the accelerator all the way down, it losses power, then jumps because the power suddenly catches up. going up a hill or putting a little pressure on the engine makes a slight pingy kind of rattle. sounds like the engine but lord only knows where it comes from cause i have searched, hung my head out of my window on the road, looking like a fool :screwy: i cant pin point the location of the noise. I put an ear chassis to it on the road and sounds maybe drivetrain, transmission, but pings and rattles move through the metal so well i cant place it. it has loss substantial power, and the gas milage dropped 3-5mpg. i know what it does run like when shes healthy, she sounds sick!
i can drive it, this has been an on going thing for about 8 months. i dont know if its the timing or a seal. I have new plugs, new catalitic converter. i maintain my jeep. i just tuned it up, and i do notice things that arent suppose to be there. This type of rattle could be early signs of serious problems. I'm not as wealthy as any other person wants to be, i fear having transmission or engine failure. i like to catch things early on, and now it is getting into a later era. Please anyone that might know. let me know- Jeep Trick 5
