Misfire in multiple cylinder/Peak Primary coilphillychrista 11-20-2006, 03:29 PM I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I was driving and it started to shake and drive ruff. It stalled on me once and was blowing white smaoke out the muffler. Did the on/off test and got the Misfire in multiple cylinders. We replaced all 8 of the spark plugs and started it and it was still doing the same thing. Then we got the Peak Primary coil current not achieved with max dwell time. We then replaced 3 of the ignition coils. It is still blowing smoke out the back and it smells like raw gas. What else could this be? HELP !!! bloodyprice 11-21-2006, 03:10 PM try O2 sesor, it helped me with the white smoke, but my truck still dies. i need a computer chip, thats what problem i have now Speck1 11-21-2006, 10:10 PM I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I was driving and it started to shake and drive ruff. If you read my thread to Studmuffin on this very subject it might be of help. Does this problem happen intermittanly, or all the time? Also, when you pulled up the 43 code did you take it to Autozone to have a scan tool hooked up to read what P sub/code you have? Get back with me. What else could this be? HELP !!!Hi again! I was also going to ask if you have looked at your oil dipstick? If you are blowing white smoke it could be a sign of a blown head gasket, or intake manifold gasket. The oil will appear to be like peanut butter colored and thick. If the oxygen sensor is bad it may also cause white smoke, but a code 21 would probably show up. Speck bloodyprice 11-22-2006, 09:42 AM yah, i work at advance auto parts, and thats were i found the 02 sensor code. and when i had that replaced then it wouldent come up with anything. they only have a code reader, not a diagnostic tool though, so i had to take it somewee else to do the diagnostic after the 02 sesors were replaced.. but if you have an advance auto parts, or discount auto parts store near you they should do the scan for free. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
