94 GCL problems startingnewdogoldtricks 11-18-2006, 05:44 PM First I must say the Jeep dealer I take my GC to is filled with morons!:banghead: :screwy: :icon16: They told me months ago that my fuel pump was going to die and needed to be replaced. Well money:2cents: as it was did not allow me to do this. I recently took it in and they tell me my fuel pump is just dandy and nothing wrong:nono: . They did replace the throttle body and others. The day I get it back the GC does not want to start:frown: . I am able to get it started by feathering the key in the ignition (kinda like pumping the gas pedal, but using my key). They told me it was my ignition switch and just the electrical part, a $242 fix?!?!? yeah right. So I ran to the local auto parts and got a new one for $30 and installed it myself. Guess what, still does the same thing. Wiring seems good, battery good. Could it be the starter motor or solenoid? Could a worn key cause the problem? (My key floats in the ignition sometimes.) dksob81 11-18-2006, 08:55 PM First I must say the Jeep dealer I take my GC to is filled with morons!:banghead: :screwy: :icon16: They told me months ago that my fuel pump was going to die and needed to be replaced. Check the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch). try starting the jeep in NEUTRAL. newdogoldtricks 11-19-2006, 02:53 PM Well. It is touchy. Sometimes it will start right off and sometimes it won't. Both Park or Neutral. The key feels loose in the cylinder. Is there anything I can do about that? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
