New rims & tires.BullDog71ss 11-09-2006, 11:25 AM They've been on for about a month but I just now got the chance to post some pics. What do you all think? http://cobaltss.net/gallery/files/2/4/2/8/7.jpg http://cobaltss.net/gallery/files/2/4/2/8/6.jpg http://cobaltss.net/gallery/files/2/4/2/8/5.jpg http://cobaltss.net/gallery/files/2/4/2/8/1.jpg The new tires are also 225's instead of 215's and are a much much better tire overall than the Pirellis...not that the Pirellis were aweful, these are just that much better. They are Bridgestone Potenza REO50A Pole Positions. clawhammer 11-09-2006, 12:08 PM Are they 18's or 17's? Looks good, but it needs to be lowered now. 93rollaracer 11-09-2006, 01:22 PM I was always a fan of the silver, but those go well with the hood. Mad_Maxima 11-09-2006, 01:27 PM looks good, a small drop would set it off BullDog71ss 11-09-2006, 02:56 PM They are the stock size of 18", the only thing that has changed is the tire width has been bumped up to 225 from 215. I have also got a brand new set of eibach springs that have been tucked away for the last few months that will be going on one of these days when I get around to it. They'll drop the back 1/2 and inch and leave the front stock ride hieght. Mad_Maxima 11-09-2006, 03:08 PM what rims are those, the design looks familiar but i cant put a name on it turtlecrxsi 11-09-2006, 03:13 PM They are the stock size of 18", the only thing that has changed is the tire width has been bumped up to 225 from 215. Why would you drop the back lower than the front? I like them. I still think 18s are too big but that is just my .02 BullDog71ss 11-09-2006, 03:25 PM The width is 10mm wider but it still adds a tad to the height. I'm sure you know that though. I still think 18s are too big but that is just my .02 I won't be dropping the back lower than the front as the rear of the car sits about 1 1/2 inches higher than the front. I'll just be making the car a little more level is all. It really does look strange because of the much higher rearend at the moment. turtlecrxsi 11-09-2006, 04:10 PM I won't be dropping the back lower than the front as the rear of the car sits about 1 1/2 inches higher than the front. VR43000GT 11-09-2006, 05:30 PM Very nice. G-man422 11-09-2006, 05:38 PM Those look great. I agree, that lowering it will just make it look that much better. Mad_Maxima 11-09-2006, 06:03 PM Just cut your springshttp://www.houston-imports.com/forums/images/smilies/kekekegay.gif BullDog71ss 11-09-2006, 08:32 PM Just cut your springshttp://www.houston-imports.com/forums/images/smilies/kekekegay.gif That way I go bouncy bouncy down the road like the rest of the ricers. Andydg 11-09-2006, 10:03 PM Looks good...make sure you post some pics once you lower her. GForce957 11-09-2006, 10:12 PM Im sure this has been asked before, but is your hood functional or no? BP2K2Max 11-09-2006, 11:37 PM looks good. you should tint your windows so it sets off the CF hood and dark rims. CivRacer95 11-09-2006, 11:40 PM Wow, the SS looks pretty bitchin'. I like the new set up. But c'mon, you gotta lower it a bit more than just a 1/2 inch on the rear. BullDog71ss 11-10-2006, 12:06 AM Im sure this has been asked before, but is your hood functional or no? Well it's not like the scoop on a new t/a which connects the scoops directly to the intake, but it does have a hole in the c/f with some metal mesh to keep larger items from being pushed through. It does add a bit of engine compartment cooling...not much, but a little. BullDog71ss 11-10-2006, 12:12 AM Wow, the SS looks pretty bitchin'. I like the new set up. But c'mon, you gotta lower it a bit more than just a 1/2 inch on the rear. Well I've got the springs that I do because I was able to pick them up for $100 brand new from my buddy who worked at a Caddy dealership. The list price is over $230. The other springs drop it about 1 inch in the front and about 1 1/2 in the back. It looks great, but my god would that kill the underside of the car. I hit my front end on everything on the road right now as it is at stock height. I'd hate to think what would happen if it were any lower in the front. So 1/2 and inch in the rear will have to do. Just a cause of function over form is all. Although, they do look bitchin when dropped a bunch... Mr. Luos 11-10-2006, 12:22 AM Although I am not a fan of black anymore with polished lip, these do look better than most. But the car does need a suspension drop. Looks good though...keep it up. TatII 11-10-2006, 02:09 AM those look like the Kazera rims. are those rims any lighter then stock? the stock ones looks heavy as a mofo, if you got some light weight 17's i'm sure your care would be noticably faster, and stop better to boot. turtlecrxsi 11-10-2006, 09:28 AM If he was going to go with more than 1/2" suspension drop then he would be better off just buying complete coil-overs. Otherwise, his stock struts would go to crap a lot faster. Function over form is win win in my book... .02 BullDog71ss 11-10-2006, 10:19 AM those look like the Kazera rims. are those rims any lighter then stock? the stock ones looks heavy as a mofo, if you got some light weight 17's i'm sure your care would be noticably faster, and stop better to boot. I'm willing to bet they are the exact same thing as the Kazara wheels, just without the universal wheel mounts. These are ASA's though, which is basically a Korean sister company of BBS. They are also lighter than stock, about 3-4 pounds per corner. The problem is that my new tires are 4 pounds heavier per corner than the Pirellis. So I havent really done any wieght savings overall. But the good news is that the Bridgestones rock, so it was worth it. I also got a killer deal on them at tirerack(got a good deal on the whole package actually.) P.S...Tat, when I get a bit of extra time I'd like to have a chat with you about 240's. I'm thinking of having my g/f get one to replace her 2000 Regal and you're pretty much the authority on them around this part of the forum. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
