Making Shift Boot notaricajustfasta 11-08-2006, 01:31 PM
I installed my short shifter, then i cut that down about two inches. And I took off my stock shift boot. I am wanting to make one because i know that anyone I buy will be to tall. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what material i could use to make a boot out of? I would need to have a peice big enough to form a rectangle at the bottom and then come up to a circle. Thanks guys. Lances133 11-08-2006, 04:05 PM Go on ebay and check out different types or material. People on Jbo used some pretty cool carbonfiber look-a-like interior vinyl for different things in their interiors. CavLCD128 11-08-2006, 08:01 PM make it out of silk. I've never seen a shift boot made from silk. theres a carbon fiber Look-a-like that comes stock with the SRT-4...if you wanna find the exact name thats prob a good place to start lookin... Lances133 11-08-2006, 08:08 PM Silk? That'd probly be pretty sweet in a low rider/pimp mobile. I don't think it'd work for a cavy tho. notaricajustfasta 11-09-2006, 01:27 AM Silk? DeadBlade89 11-12-2006, 12:46 PM if ur still wondering about material, they might be expensive but try the carbon fiber like material or lizard skin type material. CarbonFiber Material: http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/search.do?freeText=carbon%20fiber%20fabric&page=GRID&history=&engine=adwords!6456&keyword=%28carbon+fiber+fabric%29&match_type= Animal Skin Fabrics: http://www.interiorsurfaces.com/i_LeatherSuede.shtml idk if u can buy the animal skin from that site, but the skins they include are buffalo, calf, deer, elk, goat, elephant, rhino, ostrich, pig, snake, frog, lizard, and stingray. personally, i think its sad, but they would work good.
