P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off

I get this code can anyone tell me what it means?

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Is there a quick fix or should I be looking to replace the torque converter and get the tranny rebuilt?

Welcome to AF, this should be scanned with a trans capable scanner to check solenoid functions, could be when the pcm commands tcc lock up it is not recognizing it's operation based on engine rpm, trans gear and speed, for one. Also can mean TCC slippage. Not a dyer type repair.

Sometimes something as simple as a fluid and filter change will solve this kind of problem. Sometimes not. How long since the fluid was last changed?

I was thinking of changing the fluid and filter. I have no idea when the last time it was changed. I bought the car about a year ago and I would suspect that it is long over due for a change.

I have been reading up on the TCC and the solenoids, this seems like the most logical problem area for the fault code. I plan to do a little more reading and try to find someone with the capability of scanning the transmission before I start taking anything apart...
