I have just purchased a used 1991 S-10, and it needs tires. I am not going to do anything special with it, but I am a firm believer is using good tires. I realize that I am not seeking advertisements, but I am looking for people that have had very good results with the tires they use, and I would like to avail myself of that information. I have 195/75 x 14 tires, and would like an all weather that is relatively quiet, and will last for a few years.
Thank you.

NO UNIROYALS! those came stock on my 98s-10(bought the truck used with 76K on it), they were at about 2/32inch tread depth when i bought it....thought hey, those are the stock tires, and at 76K should be ok for replacements......WRONG!. first set i had wore out in less than 20K miles. these tires had a 50K mile warranty too. went back to the wal-mart i bought them from, and the guy there first accused me of always driving fast and taking corners at high rates of speed. after getting him to understand that the truck has a 4cyl in it, then he tried to say my alignment was way off, causing the wear. thing is, ALL 4 tires were worn very evenly across the tread, as if they had 100K on them...not one bit of uneven wear. then he tried to tell me i had to pay the labor to have new ones put on, tires covered of course, but not labor. he failed to present me with a written copy of the warranty, and kept claiming it covered parts only. after a long talk with his manager about all the acusations his employee made, i got the tires on for free. about a week later, the truck started to shake real bad...as if the tires were out of balance.....come to find out, walmart decided to use the old weights from my rims and didn't make sure they would stay on....so i decided no more walmart for any type of vehicle stuff...and no more uniroyals either as here i am 20K later on the replacement tires, and they are almost bald.

in short, i personally like goodyear, or BF G's......toyo's seem to be pretty good.....was thinking about those for my next set. sorry for the rambling...lol.

Hell, I just bought the cheap Douglas tires Walmart had for $30/tire and they have served me well. 11,000 miles on them and I live on a gravel road and they still look great.

I'm very happy w/Cooper or Michelin tires (performance & cost).
