1993 Lumina APV not firingskitzo315 10-31-2006, 12:03 AM I have a 1993 Lumina APV that isn't firing any spark plugs. It actually hasn't been started in about 3 years. I've jumped the battery and it cranks fine and I just put new plugs and wires in but none of the spark plugs are firing. This is also not a result of it sitting for so long, it sat for so long because of the firing problem and was just never fixed. What could it be? LMP 10-31-2006, 07:29 AM What engine do you have?.... Most probably crank position sensor, a common problem, specially at that age. Problem it is hard to get if a 3800. www.avigex.ca/xport/ckps.jpg www.avigex.ca/xport/ckpphoto.jpg www.avigex.ca/xport/ckpsremoval.jpg www.avigex.ca/xport/ckpulley.jpg www.avigex.ca/xport/cksphoto.jpg Other possibility is the ignition module. Just changed mine a few months ago. www.avigex.ca/xport/d1977a.jpg Much easier if a 3.1 though: it is all in and around the distributor. reading the codes can give some indication, although not always critical of the actual problem. IN any case, use this: www.avigex.ca/xport/readingcodes.jpg skitzo315 10-31-2006, 11:34 AM It is the 3800 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
