Cierra wont start, Fuel filter or fuel pump?minnow72 10-25-2006, 02:58 PM My 93 Cierra ran one day and then the next morning came out and it wont start. It seems to have spark because if I leave it sit for a day and try again it will fire and then die. How do I know if it is the fuel filter or the fuel pump? how do I check to see if it is getting fuel. Is the fuel pump accessible or is it in the gas tank. Has anyone had this happen to them? maxwedge 10-25-2006, 03:44 PM Welcome to AF, get a fuel pressure gage on the the fuel rail port, if below 37 psi the pump is probably bad, 6cyl I suppose? please provide info such as the engine size in the future. minnow72 10-25-2006, 04:42 PM It is a 3.3. Where is the fuel pump located? Gas tank? GTP Dad 10-25-2006, 05:45 PM Yes, the fuel pump is located in the fuel tank and you will need to drop the tank to get to it. Use a jack to support it as it is heavy especially if it is full of gasoline. Good Luck! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
