My car wont stay idle guys.I dont know what it is.I can turn the car on and only keep it on when im accelerating.Its new spark wires,sprak plugs,oil,oil filter,MAF,cone head filter.What should i do? Is it the gap between the wire and plugs or something?Or carb or old gas?

Could be many things...

Throttle body is closed during idle = adjust it via screw on the side of the throttle body

Dirty/Faulty maf = spray Maf cleaner in the Maf

etc..

Did you replace all those things you mentioned??

Doubt it would be the wires and plugs (unless they gave you the wrong part)

Carb? no, its EFI

Old gas? Probably, how long was the car sitting?

I replaced the MAF yesterday with a VENOM one.and i only have a little gas my friend gave me from hi old lawn mower.lol.dont know how old it is.i guess ill get more gas today and see if its the throttle too.Thanks man if u have any more advice please feel free to tell me.

well obviouslytheres no arguing with you. I give up whatever u win.and also forgive my noobiness im just pissed bcuz my cars giving me problems.i usualy drive a civic, but i wanted to start a project car so i went to the junkyard and bought the 240 for 1000. Pretty good considering it has everything in good shape except the exterior.it has 300zx rims,dented fenders,and a ricer exhaust.I put in like 800 but its still crap.I put a cf trim.like dash and crap,ive got 2 intakes, bought like 3 breathers and they all dont fit,turbonator (for now),a velocity funnel for the intake,magnaflow catalytic(should i get a test pipe?),new valve cover,head gasket,oil,oil filter,NGK spark plugs,NGK spark wires, fuel and new gauges which i havent installed yet,and new fenders which i havent installed yet. I get things for cheap because my pops owns a garage in NY. oh and do yall think a greddy t3 turbo kit for 800 is good? opinions plz.

Dude, we don't mean to hate on you, but this is the most pathetic attempt to revive a 240 that I've ever heard of. Maybe it's not your fault, maybe you come from a family where people put racing stickers on Buicks and neons on Chevettes, but a 240 can't be treated that way. Pull that engine out and do some real work on it, I wouldn't say this to anyone, but your dad has a garage. Then get the fenders and get it back to stock, a good stock condition. After that, start modifying it with decent parts, not APC and Venom. And GReddy turbo kit is crap, learn about turbos and piece your own kit together for much cheaper and moch more power. Or get an SR20, they are really good engine to. But seriously, NEVER, EVER BUY MODS AT AUTOZONE!!!!!

oh and yeah i bought the boost gauges and oil temp. i can buy another i have an extra pod for it.wut do u think i should get.but all i buy from is NOPI or my fathers garage.unless u guys have some other shop that is online.
