ok, i just got an 89 RS with a 305 5spd in it, and the car over heats.. i.e, it makes a whining noise from the front, and the fans dont kick on i think the whining nose is the waterpump, but how do you get the fans to work??:banghead:

there's a swtich fan 'switch' sensor on the passanger side between cyls 6 and 8 you can pull the wire and ground, if the fan comes on the switch is bad.

Alot of people hack these fan systems up tho so look for odd wiring.

Why did you hack the wiring? merely taking the the wire off the fan switch and grounding it would have kicked it on and told you if you have a bad switch, and then if grounding did nothing, hook direct power and ground to the fan through the connector.
