Ok so...i have a 1995 Ford Contour it has a Zetec Engine. Almost everytime i stop the car starts idling really poorly and most of the time just shuts right off. Also if i'm driving on the highway as soon as I get to 100 km i kind of feel a little pull....not really hard but noticeable and then the check engine light comes on...the light turns off after about a minute. If anyone could tell me wat it might be please i would appreciate it. Thanks

Find out if there are any stored codes that help in isolating as to why the light is coming on. Some of the chain auto parts stores will read the codes for free.

only as a suggestion if you are able to do these things yourself it would be better than paying someone else to do it. but have your vacuum checked for a leak and check your tranny for metal flecks and for a burned smell. let us know. a leak in your vaccum can cause stalling, loss of hp, and many other problems.

take a good look at the air inle tube from the air cleaner to the throttle body - ahve seen them break on both engines - also check if the air filter cover is loose - these cars like to pop the caps and suck crap into the mass airflow sensor.

Go see someone that knows about Mazdas.The 2.0 Zetec is a Mazda engine
