I've had my alternator die last night on the way home from work last night. While shopping online I see theres 100amp alt's and 105amp alt's. how beneficial (sp?) would it be to have the extra 5amps?. also im seeing some alternators with a clock position of 7 and some with a position of 8. IF i remember right I need one with the clock position of 8, right???

not sure of the "clock" position(what you mean by it). But you won't really need those 5 extra amps unless you have a system that thumps a little too much...and at that point, 5 amps will not help you enough to worry about it. If it's an automatic, good luck on actually replacing it....take off the fan and shroud, should give enough room to pull it out the top. I did on one an automatic and wiggle-wormed it out the bottom(stupid thing to do). If it's a manual, take it out from the bottom...minor wiggling and it will come right out.

dang Napa (that i like going to)was closed. ended up going to AutoZone getting a remf'd Duralast, limited lifetime warranty. <~~~ thats why i love duralast products, they really stand behind them. Took about 2 hours on the automatic transmission. we ended up disconnecting the coolant tube that goes from the radiator to the t-stat. Given that 2 novices were working on it, it really wasn't too bad. got it started, volts were at 14, and no battery light was on. yay.
