New stuff... in color!stuffbyalex 10-21-2006, 02:48 PM Hey everybody, haven't posted a thread in a while. The marker rendering is freehand, and I'm trying to improve my proportions by only using small 3x2" ref pics from car magazines. The '28 Roadster was done with Prismacolor pencils, using a grid for the line work. The front grille and engine detail made it one of the toughest drawings I've done to date, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. Hope you like it! http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/7612/1928fordroadstervh1.jpg http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/4263/1928fordroadstercloseupdq3.jpg '71 Cuda: http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/4797/71cudafm2.jpg Alex <<Si-Vtec>> 10-21-2006, 04:02 PM good to see that your back! i'v been waiting all this time to see some more of your work! i love the '28 Roadster but a diffrent color will be nice ... oh ya, is prismacolor pencils that good on smooth paper? Great work on the '28... grill, engine detail and reflections are superb... the 'cuda looks like a conception car for a possible return for 2007? Keep em coming. Robo myMHz 10-23-2006, 11:33 AM Holy Crap!!! Great drawings!!!! knightvision 10-23-2006, 03:01 PM Truely amazing what you can do with pencils. I love the engine's details. Great job, I really like to see you going freehand. GirlBear 10-23-2006, 06:49 PM wow my god! those r phenominal!!!!!1 stuffbyalex 10-24-2006, 09:08 PM Thanks for the comments! V-tec: Don't use smooth paper for colored pencil work.. it can barely hold any layers of pencil. Oddly enough, rough paper will give the smoothest results. Charger: No it's not all marker.. sorry i forgot to mention. I also used prismacolor pencils (mostly whites) and white gouache paint for highlights. The roadster was done on rough paper, the same stuff I always use, called Rising Stonehenge... works great for colored pencils. Rexins-art: Yeah, engines take forever to draw. I think this is the first time I've had to do one. Robo: The reference pic I used for the 'Cuda is a '71... with LOTS of custom work done to it. Alex Lex[US] 10-25-2006, 10:36 AM what can i say that's cooooooooooooooooooool 69charger426 10-25-2006, 03:37 PM Alex i was lookin at your site and i was wondering, if you dont mind me asking how much do you sale your colored and black and white darwings for? i was just wondering. thanks stuffbyalex 10-27-2006, 04:01 PM 69Charger, I was going to send you a pm but I can't.
