alternator question BlenderWizard 10-19-2006, 07:03 PM
is the 130A alternator adequate for the e-fans? MT-2500 10-19-2006, 07:32 PM is the 130A alternator adequate for the e-fans? I would think so. That is as long as you do not have one of them big boom boxes.:grinyes:  How many amps does the fans pull? Or just add the amps they pull to your standard alternator it came with. I was just wondering if you are going to e-fans to save on HP. If so it might be interesting to have a electrical engineer to figure out how many HP a alternator uses to put out the extra amps needed to run the E-fans. In years past we built a alternator tester at the shop and found out it needed 5-10 hp motor to run a alternator at full charge. Something to think about in your spare time.:grinyes: :grinno:  Good Luck MT Rmbodie 10-26-2006, 06:38 AM I have 3 electrics on my old blazer . Two set by thermostat on front , and one large puller on the back and they don't reduce my voltage from 14.1 or change the idle with the extra load (with carb) . Body lift required conversion . The 3rd was overkill but I had it sitting around . Rob Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
