Anyone have any comments on Michelin LTX-M&S tires? I have Michelin XCX-APT tires and am looking for tires that don't make a lot of road noise but still do a good job when pulling a horse trailer. My tires now are getting thin enough that I'm having traction problems in 2WD when the road is wet.

Don't know if those exact ones, but my dad loves Michelin's.

I have had them on my truck for 70 k, great tire. But I am going to put on a set of Yokohama Geolander HT-S GO51 this next time. They also have great reviews at about half the price.

The problem with Yokohama is if you get them in the LT (G053) it's almost as expensive as the Michelin.

In the 265/75 16 I found them for $56 less a piece. $224 for a set ,I'm still gona give them a try.

Are are you talking about the GO51 or 53...and is this a national store? If you have the pricing on the 51's maybe I can ask them about the 53's.

Reading the reviews for the Yokohama and Michelin at tirerack.com really makes me want to get the Michelin. Everybody raved about the Michelin...lots of people had negative things about the Yokohama...like short tread wear, poor wet traction, poor snow traction etc.

Ditto--put them on @43K and now @116K-- still still going strong. Will definitely put another set on when these wear out.

I got the LTX-MS tires and they ride alot quieter then the other Michelins I had. But now I have two questions...how much air should I run in them...the max is 50psi for max loads and...should these stock wheels have stick-on wheel weights? I don't like the vibration I get at 70mph so I'm going to have them balanced again and all of the wheels have weights that are pounded onto the rim. Is that right?

I run 35# pressure & every 7K miles I rotate and balance. Weights are on the outside as you indicated. I don't know if all shops work the same but I balance all 4 when I rotate. They told me all shops only balance the tires going on the front, I find it makes a diffence when all are balanced. If rotation and balance is free, why not get it all done.
