R33 & R34 Hpcruz020 09-07-2002, 05:09 PM Does anybody know what HP the internals of a R33 and a R34 are rated to? SkylineUSA 09-08-2002, 04:37 PM Depends on how long you want it to last, like any other engine.:p I have seen people putting out 700 without any problems, you could push a little more, but everything has its limits over time. The RB26DETT is a very well built engine, I do not think you would have the money to get it there:D I am j/k with you. Peace:cool: Its really not a logical question. If you know what I mean. SkylineUSA 09-08-2002, 04:38 PM Hey CSU lost, sorry to hear that. Go PAC 10....... cruz020 09-08-2002, 11:40 PM Hey CSU lost, sorry to hear that. Go PAC 10....... Why did you have to bring that up. I had some respect for until now.:D I have seen people putting out 700 without any problems, you could push a little more, but everything has its limits over time. The RB26DETT is a very well built engine, I do not think you would have the money to get it there I am j/k with you. Peace The reason I was asking was I was talking to my friend about his supra and the 2jz-gte engine came up in conversation and he was talking shit and telling me that it was the best built engine ever. I was not sure how much HP the RB26DETT could take so I could not really back my shit up. SkylineUSA 09-09-2002, 01:03 AM Just tell him, "It really shows yout ignorance about the potential power the RB26DETT can put out" to tell you the truth both engines are engineered beautifully. They both would be great to have, there is really no clear cut winner between the two, thats why we tune and race, right. MattyG 09-09-2002, 04:46 AM Both engines are tuned massively in Japan to high hp levels where they are both readily available.........the RB26DETT is not readily available in the USA so I'll go out on a limb and say thats probably the source of your friends ignorance. SkylineUSA is right though, the "best" engine is probably determined by who you talk to. :) Gonthrax 09-10-2002, 10:22 PM Originally posted by MattyG SkylineUSA is right though, the "best" engine is probably determined by who you talk to. :) Well if you talk to me it's the RB26. This is based not just on it's HP potential alone. What other engine do you know that will pick up 50+/- hp from an exhaust and intake? The cost of getting it to 500 wheel hp is so low compaired to other cars with a factory claimed 280. SkylineUSA 09-11-2002, 01:00 AM After going to that dyno shootout, they had GTRs just like you mentioned even with turbo upgrades that were not even in the 300hp range. I am telling you they are very evenly matched. I am telling you they are very evenly matched. It's all in the tuning ;) I've seen dyno sheets posted in the 300 awhp area with nothing more then Exhaust, intake, cams and a remaped ECU. Speaking of GTRs, when are you going to get yourself one Sky? :p SkylineUSA 09-11-2002, 07:47 AM Its all in the tune, or where you get your car dynoed at. Pound rate my friend, pound rate. The Skyline depends on that. Gonthrax 09-11-2002, 01:41 PM Originally posted by SkylineUSA Its all in the tune, or where you get your car dynoed at. Pound rate my friend, pound rate. Understood :) I'm working up the balls to go in debt so I can have some boost :D cruz020 09-11-2002, 05:54 PM Understood I'm working up the balls to go in debt so I can have some boost That is one of the best reasons to go into debt.:D Gonthrax 09-11-2002, 11:09 PM Originally posted by cruz020 That is one of the best reasons to go into debt.:D Yes sir! :silly2: :silly2: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
