Can anyone tell me where my fuel filter is on my 86 t-bird 3.8? Also I am having a hesitation problem when accelerating. Changed pretty much everything I could thing of, with the exception of the fuel filter seeing as I can't find it. Any help would be great. Any tips on getting a little more out of the v-6?

fuel filter should be on your right side, by the front wheel, on the frame with a rock shield. Buy a manual for your car, it should tell you better. No, that 3.8 cant really be moded....its all its going to be. If i'm wrong someone please chip in.

I agree. The fuel filter is a large round canister located in front of the gas tank on the passenger side of the vehicle. Just follow the plastic fuel lines up once you spot them. The fuel filter is really hard to miss.

On mine, it's under the car in the back seat area.

Lying on the dirty dirt on the passenger's side, reaching toward the middle of the car, there's a curved rock shield. Above that is the filter, which just sits there.

It's about, maybe, 1/3 the size of an oatmeal box, eight bucks. No way to reach it without jacking the vehicle. Needed are the plastic (or whatever) tools to remove fuel and/or air conditioning lines, about ten bucks.
