I need help. I have a 1992 Pontiac Grand Am SE.
2.3l Engine SOHC
On Occasion when we would turn the key to start the engine the starter would drag and it would sound like the battery was almost dead.
After driving it and turning it off it worked great.

We went to start it at our friends house and it tried starting but nothing.
It draged as if the battery was almost dead.
Then nothing no head lights no dash lights no power window controls no dash lights nothing.

My friend checked the battery he says it appears to be OK.

Is it Starter or Soleinoid or igition Switch or possible Neutral starter switch.
Is it a possible Control Module.

Right now nothing at all electric.

Thanks in Advance for any help.

Welcome to the forums.

Check yoru connections to your battery and make sure they are nice and tight. Your battery cables maybe not making proper contact to the battery or they are worn out causing the low battery effect when trying to start. Good Luck.

The battery doesn't seem to be ok from the way you explain it, how does you friend check the battery? Unless you load-test it you can't tell if a battery is good, a voltmeter will tell you if it's charged or dead but it won't tell you if once charged will hold a charge (although you can with a voltmeter you also need time to let the battery sit and self discharge if it in fact is doing so) or has enough amp capacity to start the car.
