Hi, first time here (ok on the GA site, on the Camaro site often)

We just replaced the Master Cylinder on our GA, when filling up the brake fluid, we are not getting any fluid to the rear (either side)

Any suggestions for us? This has us baffled. :banghead: Front works just fine, ABS light is staying on.

thanks , oh and if you need more information about anything let me know. know nothing about cars, I just look things up for the do-it-yourself-to-save-us-money men in the house LOL

Did you change the master cylinder yourself, or did someone else do it? To change the master cylinder, the gear tension in the abs modulator needs to be relieved before disconnecting any of the brake lines. If this was not done, things are not going to work properly. Have a brake shop or dealership reset the abs for you. If you don't have brakes, or you don't trust them (I wouldn't!) have the car towed. Good luck.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

The guys changed the master cylinder themselves, as far as I know they have changed these before, but I will check and see if they did what you said.

Also you might try a vacum device at the rear bleeders.

That air traped in the lines by the master cyl will be hard to pump out with the brake pedal alone.
Just something else that migth save you a tow bill, and a trip to the stealership .

Thank you both

They are going to take another look at the car tomorrow.

If there are any more suggestions, please post them, they are all appreciated.

RitalinLA you should probly started your own post/thread instead of highjacking this one.

btw get your car scanned for trouble codes, thats the only way to know why the lights are on , I have no crystalball :grinno:
