Can't shift out of Park

Replaced the following and still stuck on my '98 4.3L VIN:"W" mileage 94,000.

1) Ignition, just in case I had a bad tumbler, at the advice of the locksmith... 2) Silenoid that's directly behind the ignition switch... 3) Battery, dealer says that's a common problem that won't let the silenoid release. After all this the key only turns off 1/4 turn and the only way to get it out is to push in the silenoid plunger... Also, transmission still stuck in park?

What else is there beside the plastic switch (I have not replaced that yet) that mounts on the brake pedal? Is there anything in the center console that I should look for?

This forum helped me salvage my truck when the lower intake manifold gasket, waterpump, oil lines, and ball joints failed... appreciate any assistance.

Its really easy to replace. Theres a metal clip on the side that holds it on the pedal. Lift up the little finger and slide the clip up. The you will have to slide the switch and the arm that connects it to the booster off the pedal arm.
I dont remember what the electrical connection looks like but Im sure its just a plug.

with your engine turned off turn your key ahead 1 notch so that none of the power is on but the steering wheel unlocks.... try to shift it.... if it shifts put it in neutral and start it, that would indicate the switch is bad, I had this problem in my 1996 chevy blazer and a friends 1997 Chevy Silverado 1500
