Does diesel fuel gell up in cold weather no matter if I use number 1 or 2. What additives should I use id it does. Also some gas stations don't indicate what diesel fuel type it is so are these all number 2 diesel. Thank you maxwedge 10-14-2006, 10:18 AM There are many anti gelling diesel fuel additives available, just about any parts house or station selling diesel fuel has this product, which should be a winterized blend for your area anyway. wrparks 10-15-2006, 12:03 PM Yea, you should be fine. Unless you buy tanker loads of fuel in florida and carry it to minnesota or something. Or maybe if you have a huge farm tank and its summer fuel. I wouldn't worry about it otherwise. Why do you ask? This is considered a "year round" fuel, but it will wax or gel below 0 degrees F. For colder weather fuel companies sell a #2 blend which is thinned down to prevent waxing and gelling. Typically you will only find #1 Diesel fuel pump marked as #1...#2 pump just advertise Diesel fuel Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
