Confirm my diagnosis - ignition switch?92Pony 10-11-2006, 03:51 PM My 181k mi, '94 LX just started something screwy a week or so ago. Ocassionally, usually when cold, I can hit the key to start it, and I get no seatbelt action, and no idiot lights. The car won't start. I can cycle the ignition on/off until the belts move along the tracks, and the idiot lights light, and then she'll fire right up. I'm guessing the problem is the ignition switch - sound plausible? Anyone else experience these exact same symptoms? BTW, my switch is worn enough that the key comes out with the car running. :icon16: I look at it as a feature though - comes in handy from time to time. Wade mightymoose_22 10-11-2006, 06:56 PM Sounds like a pretty smart place to start. However, I think you might want to check your tire pressure ;) 92Pony 10-12-2006, 08:57 AM Hmmm, hadn't thought of tire pressure.........:grinno: Thanks! Wade Davescort97 10-12-2006, 11:27 PM I don't get it. Why tire pressure would affect the key and seat belts and idiot lights. Help me out please. You're just funnin' us Mighty Moose, aren't you? I must be stupid because I just don't get it. You're putting one over on ol' Davescort97. Come on back? mightymoose_22 10-13-2006, 12:06 AM Yes... it was just a dumb joke. It seemed so obvious to be the switch since the key falls out of it. Sometimes the problem is where you would least expect it though... 92Pony 10-16-2006, 08:41 AM Yes... it was just a dumb joke.
