exhaust... ehhhhh... seats are generic looks like? you might think, "they look ok, they should work fine" but if you are actually going to race this thing whether drift drag autox or whatever, good seats are important. sooner or later, youll understand this. the wheels are ehh.. go for something with a better offset, more of a lip. i understand they came with the car, im just giving you input. the sleeve type coils arent very good to use because they destroy your struts from what i understand, but ive never used them. good luck on your build

Sleeve-over coils i would say just sell. Are you taking out all the sound deadner? Might as well while all that crap is out of the car. Yours looks way different than mine lol so i cant really tell. Yea i prolly would have opted for the ka24De. The E is still cool but alot more "underground" i guess is the word. Its doable, just not alot of aftermarket support following it as hard as the DE.

Wheels came with it so rock them till you get the funds for new ones. Atleast there wider than stock. Brown interior is ugly lol, but work with what ya got. I dunno about the brown dash, red seats, black cluster though. To much color going on. A black dash would help greatly. Come to think of it i have a black center console. It doesnt have an ash tray though. Its a base model so it doesnt have all the power side mirror controls either. Dunno if you have power options or not. I also have black interior door panels and glove box lol. I have both power and manual door panels so either way i have you covered. So let me know. Basically all you would need to source is a black dash. Im not picky on price either......i have 2 240 interiors piled up in my room. I need space. So let me know if your interested.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe those are ebay seats and are definitely not what you want even on the street. Another thing to consider is that the 240sx is poorly set up for aftermarket seats and usually you'll run into issues with headroom...

As for the rims and exhaust, you got them free so use them and then sell them cheap.

As for the ka24e I don't think there's anything wrong with sohc other than it's popularity and the fact that it's a little less common.

so far we bought a new clutch and a timing belt, we plan on getting a rebuilt kit, that will make the engine sutabile for a turbo.

also some things i forgot in my orginal post are that the car has a 5 lug conversion, from a 300zx, and it has 180sx inserts

also we are sanding the car down for a paint job, super cheap, cuzz we now a guy that will rent out a paint both to us, and my dad will paint the car.

well right now were just trying to get the car running, so we can use at as a daily driver, from there its up to my brother, our future plans are to get it around 300hp, and take to the track so it might be a race car/ daily driver

thats not true at all (the forged piston/HG part), you can do it on stock internalls and a good fuel system with tuning. Cory made about 370whp on his KA daily driven with 138,XXX miles on it...

that stuff might not be required aboslutely every time, but its defintely reccomended. better safe than sorry... so do it right or do it twice

yea, if your going to rebuild anyways, might as well upgrade while your at it. You dont necissarily have to upgrade every part your replacing. But i would atleast do pistons/rings. Rods should be ok for 300.....but if you have plans to go bigger in the future, then you may just want to upgrade most of the bottom end during the rebuild.

yeah if your rebuilding and have the money. But its not required, or atleast the way sidewayz said it sounded like he thinks its required.

on another note, theres alot more that goes into building a motor then you would think. Im in mine almost 700$ for just machine work on the bottom end, resurfacing flywheel, and balancing the motor.

Doing it right is more then just pulling stock pistons out for low comp forged pistons.

300 hp...WHY? I do well with my 263 hp car on the track (big willow and small willow, the main reason is bcs of my braking not my hp!)

ya no shit, why did you think i said REBUILD kit, it comes with forged pistons thicker head gaskets, were also gonna get a decent fuel system and boost controolers as well as a waste gate and blow of valve and other stuff that prepare the ka for a turbo.

2. Sell the KAE and buy a KADE.

3. Research

Not trying to be down on you man, but seriously, don't put that trash on the car. By the way if you have money for all this stuff [paint, forged parts, etc], why not buy a nice motor?
