While I have changed fuel pumps on Chevy pickups before I had the truck on jack stands and removed the tank from the bottom. I am getting old enough I don't want to do this anymore.
Has anybody pulled the rear tires and bolts holding the bed, dropped the rear bumper and slid the bed back far enough to replace the pump from the top.
How heavy is the bed. Has anyone replaced the bed before.

2-3-4 people an do it.
I think you can leave rear bumper and rear tires on it.
Spare tire I am not sure about.
Unplug tail light wires and undo bed bolts
A lot of people do it and a lot just remove the tank.
Time wise not much different and you still have to get under truck to undo bed bolts.
Even some people butcher up the bed with cutting a hole in it to replace tank.

Ive done it. Like the guy before said just leave everything on except unplug all the electrical and take the screws out of your gas inlet on the gas door and just lift the bed and let it rest on the frame and the bumper. I did with 2 other guys. so it took 3 total.

Thanks for your tip. The reason I was thinking of removing the tires and bumper is I thought I could park my tractor behind it and use one of the straps they use to tie down cars on trailers and pull it back a couple of feet.
Then when the neighbor comes home get him to help me slide it forward.
I have floor jacks and engine hoist plus impact and air ratchets so removing a few other things isn't that big of a problem. I will look it over real close and hire some day labor if I have to when I'm ready.
