My 98 venture 98000k has a grinding noise while turning the steering wheel while moving at low speeds or stopped. The cv joints are all in good shape.
Anybody else had this problem?

I had this on my 97 venture and it turned out to be under a recall, but I am not sure what was fixed. It was a front end component though and lasted for about 30k miles, before it now comes back occasionally. My main steering wheel nut seems to have backed off a bit now though (at 141k miles). A little play when rocking it. Also, make sure you don't have power steering pump/line leaks and that it's fluid level is where is needs to be. Are you in a snow/salt the roads environment?
