03 Drivers Seat Broken

Loaned my car out and it came back with the drivers seat recliner handle broken off. It's a large black plastic handle with a portion of a slotted metal cylinder and a coil spring that appears to fit in the slotted cylinder. I need to know if I can fix this myself?; if there are diagrams/ drawings available?;the replacement part number?; and if any special tools are needed? Your help is appreciated.
I've got about 85k miles on it and want to keep it in good shape!

I appreciate this forum. It provided good info when replacing my ELC sensor and my drivers side power window switch which recently failed.
(The sensor incidentally had been out for a good while and when still under warranty was told by my dealer was okay- all the service mgr did was bounce the rear end and said my shocks were fine)

As I am very handy and mine broke as well for the passenger side seat, I was not able to repair either the DS or PS handle portion on my '97 and carry around a 6" crescent wrench which does the trick. Am going down to a parts yard soon to try to get these as well as a new glove box door (latching mechanism will fail), both cup holders, and a rear actuator control module for my power sliding door. If you can "JB Weld" your plastic on the handle as well as the handle to the protuding metal rod, that may be you solution. Both of mine were pretty shattered as the kids were kicking/putting their feet on it and eventually loosened it up and broke it off in a sideways fashion. Poor design in my opinion. Good luck. Let us know of any fix that did not require a new part.
