So I was comparing SPT upgrades for my WRX vs other After Market mods and had some questions.

Ive heard SPT works a lot better since after all, they are engineered by subaru. And the prices seem to be better as well. But one product in particular i was looking at is the SPT coilover suspension vs the Cusco Coilovers. I like the Cuscos because you can get a cabin mounted computer interface that electronically controls ride height/dampening/camber etc but is it worth possibly voiding the warranty by choosign cusco over SPT? thanks in advance

You cant void your warranty unless an aftermarket part directly caused the failure of whatever. Such as....your warranty cant be voided if you added an ACT clutch and your turbo went bad, but warranty work would be denied if you went in w/ transmission problems and an ACT clutch.

Subaru advertise that the SPT stuff doesn't have any impact on warranty which is a plus. Not all SPT stuff is the best on the market though, for example - Cobb did some tests on the SPT intake and found that it's not as great as SPT make out.

As far as the warranty thing, it's as 2turbo said, you can't void the entire warranty, only the area you modified if it causes failure.

If you like the features of the Cusco, though, go with the Cusco.

They are more likely to Deny your claim instead of voiding your warranty. Dealer cant do it, has to come from SOA.

I have quite a few aftermarket parts on my WRX, and the dealerships I've dealt with (and it's been three or four different places... I travel more than most people) have never even so much as blinked an eye at my mods. In fact, more than one service manager has asked about my suspension and exhaust setups in a, "That's pretty cool, man," kinda way.

It all depends on the dealership and how you act!
