I changed the wire in the positive battery wire, as well as the negative wire. There were three wires on the positive terminal one to the starter, on new wire to the alternator, and the ground wire I am confused with. I tried just conecting to the fender. But I got sparks when I tried to connect them. I also replaced the negative cable but I think I only have one of the three wires in the right place. What is the correct wire path?

The ground goes to the negative cable, the main cable to the starter and the wire to the alternator goes to the positive terminal.

ground the ground wire where it was originally grounded.
