:banghead: I have an 89 s10 BLAZ THAT HAS LOST IT'S SPEEDO ODO AND TRIP SET. I HAVE CLEANED AND REWIRED GROUND SO I KNOW IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. DEALERS SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO REMOVE IT AND SEND IT OUT FOR REPAIR . IS THIS THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM OR DO I HAVE AN AFTER MARKET SOLUTION?

I recently bought a 95 and someone had installed an EL glow gauge face. In the process they rendered the fuel gauge non-functional by pressing the needless on too tight and they were dragging.

I managed to fix it myself, but before I fixed it I investigated some options. I emailed http://www.aaellc.com/index.html about a replacement.

They replied,

Hello, we may have an exchange unit available in stock that we can send
you for
your defective unit. The cost is $185.00 total with a 12 month / 12,000 mile
warranty including standard ground freight. Our unit will come pre-shipped set
to your mileage with a return shipping label for your core. If we do not have
an exchange unit available we can repair yours with a 1-2 day turn around time
for the same price. Please give us a call if you have any questions.

$185.00 for an exhange, cross shipping included, doesn't sound that bad to me. Maybe they could help you out?

Good Luck
