Primer? 79280zx 09-03-2002, 03:30 AM
My car needs bondo work done and i'm doing all that myself. I have no questions on how to do it, nor do i have a problem with doing it, but i do have a question as to what type of primer i should use. is there a certain brand or type i should use or stay away from? Come spring i'm going to sand and re-primer the whole car and have it painted professionally. Just wondering if there was a certain type to avoid and make everything a little bit easier. The primer from Dupli-color cans is decent, but its so thin that it takes more $$$ to primer the car correctly than just paying the shop to do it. However, if you want one thin coat just to stop the rust before takin git to the shop, then do use Dupli-color primer. It seems to be the best for not reacting with paints & gumming up during sanding. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
