I wanted to know if anyone knows how to hook up a tach gauge on a 89 buick century with a 3.3L engine.

Are you going to install a permanent tach? Different tach manufacturers may have different procedures. Your tach manufacturer may have a web-site.

Some info says to tap into the white wire at the ignition module.

I have a different GM vehicle than yours, with dis ignition, I used a dmm with a tach setting just to check the rpms. I tapped into the purple/white wire at the ignition module, to get the signal, worked fine.

I have seen info that said 5500 rpm redline. Don't quote me on that.

Go to the search box on your home page, type in 89 buick 3.3 redline, It will show alot of info.
