This is still one of my favorites, taken by Mobycat at the MAXC/NEXTerra Back to Basics 2 Run at Hidden Lakes back in April.

I'm not really sure how I didn't flip, my front driver's side tire is firmly planted as is my rear passenger side tire. The only thing I can think of is the side wall of the TSL on the rear driver's side had enough grip, you can see it isn't at full droop.

Nice Shot! :)

I don't see how you COULD have flipped actually...at a good angle, but not enough to roll, at least that's the way it looks from here. (Pucker factor rated though)

Also - Easy enough line to drive out of it anyway...the line I assume you took w/o drama, hence no more harrowing pics. ;)

OK, shoot me, but for some reason Neneh Cherry's "Buffalo Stance" popped into my head after reading the subject...

The picture is very deceiving, almost looks like I'm on flat ground. Where we were is basically a small hill, it rises maybe 10 feet, with some crazy ruts. The rut that I'm on is one of the largest ruts in the hill, just narrow enough for an Xterra. There isn't a picture of me when the truck first slipped, but if there was or if you had seen it happen, you could understand why I'm surprised I didn't flip. On a side not though, that rut is no longer safely passable. We had some large rain falls at the end of June that took a couple inches off the walls and made it over a foot deeper. In the middle of July I started up that rut, went about 3 or so feet up it and decided there's no way I'm getting up safely.

You can see more photos of this place by visiting my web site, link below, go to galleries and look at the photos from 3/24/01, 4/7-4/8 and 7/15/01

Damn...the pics from the galleries won't display. :(

I'll take your word for the hidden detail/perspective though....shots of trail situ's tend to make it difficult to judge...

I find shots taken from the bottom or tops of hill climbs for example, of rigs trying to make it up, ALWAYS look like there's barely a hill, unless the camera is held level to the horizon, and the rig is visible due to field of view, rather than being aimed at.
