I'm having trouble getting off my rotors and break pads for the front of the car. I've taken the wheel off but do I need to unskrew the lage bolt infront of the rotor? It's not budging. It doesn't look like it would be holding it on. Also for the break pads there are two pins that go through the pads that I can't seem to budge. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tiffany

I believe the pins on the pads are held with small cotter pins. If they are frozen on there you should be able to grab on with grips and twist it free.
As for the rotor, once the caliper and pads are off, if it does not come off easily you just need to get out the BFH and give it a good smack. No need to remove the hub nut.

Thanks. I got the rotor off and the pins but I can't get the long nails that went through the break pads to come out to save my life. Any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Tiffany

Don't overlook the small hairclip pins that keep the longer pins in place ... you may have to do some cleaning to find them.

Ya, I already took those out. I ended up having to saw the long pins and then hammering them out. A two hour job took 7, lol. Gotta love Fords.
