94 GM ABS problem abaird 09-26-2006, 03:00 PM
Just bought a 94 Camaro Z28. Have a stange brake problem. Everything works under hard braking but on slow gradual stops I feel what seems like a clunk, but the feel from the pedal is like it is going into an ABS stop from about 5 mph and under. (on dry pavement) Also the low trac light comes on during this. Seems to me like it could be a wheel speed sensor going bad. I haven't had much time to look into it but was wondering if anyone had similar problems with other mid 90s GM cars with ABS. Thanks. Andy Blue Bowtie 09-26-2006, 07:04 PM When you turn on the ignition, watch the ABS warning lamp. It should turn on for about 3 seconds then turn off. If it flashes, count the number of flashes and monitor the pattern/frequency of flashes. On the older systems, the lamp should flash if a failure for a system sensor is detected. I'm fairly certain this applies to most GM 1994 models, but I wouldn't put money on it. It works on mine. 355smallblock 09-26-2006, 07:12 PM Does The Abs Light Illuminate? abaird 09-27-2006, 09:39 AM There is only an ABS INOP light and it comes on for a few seconds then turns of like all the other lights.
