95 skylark stalls when put in gear

Newbie here, I have read the other threads about it being the TCC, but I have disconnected it and there is no change car still stalls when put it gear. Here is some backround info. The car has a quad 4 and the trans was rebuilt only 13k ago, I know of some vacuum lines that needed changed and I did that.
Does this still sound like the TCC, or are there other possibilities? If I give it alittle gas when shifting from park into gear it will stay running. I wouldn't called it neutral dropping it. It doesn't clang when I do this.
The problem is in the last year the car hasn't been driven much, so it is somewhat hard to start right now. I hope there aren't more problems with it.
I am just not sure where to start with trying to diagnose the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
