Hello Honda Forums :) my first time here.

My friend is looking to do an engine swap. He currently has a 93 accord dx and he wants to swap the engine with a vtec h22a1 or a b16. I was wondering if the tranny would need to be swapped out also, and what else am i going to need to upgrade. Also, if any mechanics could give us an estimate of what an engine swap will cost.

Well generally speaking when your gonna buy that type of engine it comes with what it needs including the transmission. A have a 94 accord lx and am going to be doing an engine swap for an h22a1 and im quoted at 4500 by one of the honda mechanics around here where i live.
