Sorry for the bad title. Anyway, I need a new AC compressor. If anyone knows a good place to order one online, throw some links my way.

Thanks!

I picked one up at the scrap yard for $75. It came with a 90 day warranty. Had to take the first one back, but the second one has been running great for almost two years.
Remember when you replace it to have the system vaccumed and also replace th oriface tube - that is kind of like a filter for the AC line as I understand it.
Also, when you have the system recharged make sure they include the oil that is required for the system, otherwise you wil be replacing the compressor again - shortly.
Good Luck.

Yip, for sure have them use refrigerant AND oil, not just straight refrigerant.

I keep hearing about this "oriface tube" (orifice?). Where do you get one?
I have the same problem with mine. My compressor is starting to seize up.

Should be able to get them at most BIG name parts stores.(Napa,Autozone, etc)

What exactly happens if the oil isn't added with the recharge? I got this done lately and now I need a new A/C compressor because it started leaking bad and it won't hold any refridgerant.

Any good shop will be able to put UV dye in and trace where it is leaking. Also, they usually should be putting a sealer in with the r134a to seal up the system. It might be something simple.

If youre system was low on oil it would end up burning up the bearings on the compressor. But, if thats the original compressor it could be more likely thats why it needed to be refilled to begin with.
