Anyone here know anyone getting one? Just curious as to what it takes to get one and how much they really cost.

The local Ferrari Dealership should be getting one within a year.
I've seen a couple of places that are asking 1 million dollars for the Enzo.

The price for the US or Euro version is not yet released. It has been announced that the official details regarding the price and the car itself will be made public after the Paris Auto Show later this month.

For now, the (I suspect) quite accurate speculation of the price is somewhere very near $670,000 for the US car and $575,000 for the European car.

Despite the fact that Ferrari has tried all their tricks to ensure that these cars are not flipped by their owners and still reserves the right to change the rules right at the last to try to mitigate such immediate transations and cashing in, there are still car contracts for sale.

The contracts are not cheap. US cars are selling at $400,000 OVER LIST and Euro cars are selling at $250-300,000 OVER LIST. Once the car is delivered, the full price is due.

It is expensive to be the top of the class. More expensive than I had guessed before they started changing hands. Once the cars hit the ground and begin to change hands, I expect they will go up in value very rapidly and then taper out in about a year.

Great car.

Thanks XOTech. I heard that most of the people that are on the list were actually invited to buy one. I think Jabba said one of his friends is getting one. Do you happen to know how many are coming to the USA. At first I hated the design and like a lot of people was looking for the spoiler but the more I see the car the more I like it. The interior is put together very well and I am sure the performance is typical ferrari excellence.

Dying4One,

The number of US F60 (Enzo's) that are officially coming to the states is not released. It is most likely that more than the original 52 F50s that were destined for official US use. The problem with the F50 was the fact that the US instituted the manditory OBD II (On Board Diagnostics generation 2) system. That is the system that allows standard equipment to diagnose internal sensors and problem codes. All cars imported and sold in the US from 1996 and up must have the OBD II system. The F50 did not and Ferrari was not interested in putting the money into developing the system for the car. Thus the reason, today, we only have 1995 F50s.

Considering today's exotic car market, there is no question in my mind that the US will more than likely be allocated very near 50% of the production. I suspect the official numbers will be released after the Paris Auto Show. Keep watching.

There are angles of the car that I do like, but others that I greatly dislike. In terms of performance and quality, I believe this is Ferrari's absolute best. It is a great car, no question.

The F60 (Enzo) is available for both US and European sale. The right money can buy anything. There are contracts available. Despite the premium for the first deliveries, they are selling for huge money. I expect the market for the Enzo will remain very high for at least 2 years if not longer. I expect it will slowly taper back to reality after that.

The McLaren is not for the faint of heart either when it comes to finances, but well worth the price. I am aware of a Road & Track feature that is being staged this very day in Southern California that will pit the McLaren F1 (a car I am very familiar with), a Ferrari F40, and a Porsche 959 together. Watch for the cover of Road & Track in November.

I have sold exotic cars for years and have a very close love for the McLaren F1. The cars sell on a very private level with relatively no publicity. The most public car I am aware of was a car that was on display in a Mercedes dealership (if I remember correctly) in Boston. Now with the orange car making its public debut at Monterey just last month, I expect that car will eclipse the one in Boston for public exposure.
