Hard shifting Century

I'm a college student and have recently replaced a throttle position control sensor on my 2000 century. The car has ran perfect for about 2 weeks until today. From stop lights the car is shifting hard into 2nd and 3rd gear. Unlike other failing tranny's that I've experienced, it is still shifting at the right time. Is there anything I can do without taking it to a dealership? Thanks.

Welcome to AF.

The 4T65E tranny is susceptible to pressure control solenoid (PCS) problems which will cause hard shifting. If you get it scanned with a trans capable scanner a DTC of P1811 may show up indicating a line pressure and PCS problem.

When was the last time the tranny was serviced? ATF fluid and screen filter?

BTW - Check out our old threads. Lots of good info on the issue. Search for PCS, 4T65E or pressure control solenoid.
