92 dodge spirit 2.5 brake issuesamstilost 09-10-2006, 11:17 AM replaced front caliper and rotor driver side. went to bleed brakes and it appeared master cylinder only pumped fluid out one port. got new M.C. benchbled it and had fluid at both ports but could not get fluid or air to bleed out the rear brakes. fronts bled and work fine. feel it is a problem with proportional valve. loosened lines at proportional to rear and got nothing out any help please jdl 09-11-2006, 12:03 PM Do you have an ABS system? My info says you do. I'd probably try bleeding the brakes, the conventional way. rr-lf---lr-rf. Integrated ABS systems are high pressure, need to relieve pressure before opening circuit. I believe you have the non-integrated system. You may need to bleed the ABS modulator, don't know. A cheap manual from the auto store, may have the procedure. My info says, that to bleed the modulator, you need a scanner and to follow manufacturers procedures. With a manufacturers scanner, you can get ABS codes. amstilost 09-16-2006, 12:52 PM this car does not have abs. being told proportional valve is bad. trying to find one at junkyard. dealer wants 200 for new one. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
