I replaced my alternator and now the belt squeeks when I turn on the A/C and the volts drop whille it is squeeking. WhenI turn off the A/C everything is fine. I have about 3 more turns before I am at the end of the adjustment screw which seems kinda of tight to me but aparently not. I did spray some of that belt conditioner on there and am thinking that is making it slip now. Is it normal to have the adjustment screw all the way in ?

Thanks for any help .

The alternator belt does need to be a little tighter than normal, but you should get a new belt anyway and skip the "belt conditioner" this time. I've never used that stuff before. Have no use for it.

I agree, get a new belt. You will be soon anyways after using the belt conditioner. What it does is break down the rubber to make it softer so it grabs better to stop the noise. Makes them wear out pretty fast after that.

As said above, it's generally recommended that you change the belt when swapping an accessory.
