Hi Guys,New to the forum and sure hope you can help. Bought a 97 with a 3.8 non supercharged for my daughter (from someone I trust) knowing it needed a head gasket. It was still running great when I disassembled it. Did everything by the book and was as careful as anyone could be. Bottom line is when I started it back up it idles terribly almost like it's running 4 cylinders. Checked all the plugs and wires. Re checked all my connections etc but I just can't seem to find the problem. Since it ran well before I have to believe it's something stupid. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, doubleya

Make sure none of the plug wires are crossed and did you replace the wires and pugs with new ones or just re-use the new ones?

Got back into it this weekend and for some reason decided to pull the valve cover on the passanger side. Somehow I managed to break the rocker arm on the #3 cylinder when I put it back together. How I didn't notice it at the time is beyond me. Anyway, is this going to be a dealer item or can I get it anywhere?doubleya

Look in the yellow pages for an automobile machine shop. Take the bad parts with you. After you purchase them ask him about reinstalling them. They normally are very helpful and are cheaper than the dealer.
