58 chevy Generator to Alternator Conv. Brose_man 09-07-2006, 03:44 PM
I just switch from a generator to an alt. on my chevy 235. I am attemtpting to rewire it and am having trouble. the Alternator is a GM 1 wire. Any ideas on wiring? maxwedge 09-07-2006, 05:18 PM Uh, where is the trouble where are you stuck? Brose_man 09-08-2006, 03:33 AM Well it is a one wire alternator. I have 3 wires that went to my gneerator. and 3 to the voltage regulator. Black, brown and dark blue. just not sure what to do without, or what to hook up where. The alternator is internally regulated, self-excited, and should present a negligible parasitic load on the electrical system when the engine is off. Been there a couple times: http://72.19.213.157/files/1957BelAir.jpg Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
