Lexus IS300cavaliercrazy 09-07-2006, 03:46 PM I drive an 04 cavalier (best 1/4 mile time in sig) Anyways... I was cruising around where we used to showing people my turbo (I had it with me in the car lol) and I was trying not to race anyone, but of course the one time I'm trying NOT to find a race I end up getting lined up beside some Lexus IS300 with nice rims and from what I could hear an exhaust. The driver looked like an asian guy straight outta Tokyo drift. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to accelerate quickly to the speed limit (40). So the light turned green and I waited for him to go (I didn't launch at all) sure enough he did. I got maybe a fender when I shifted into 2nd and maybe 1/2 a car total before I let off (45ish). I just looked up the specs and they have 215hp!!! I thought it was a good race, but niether of us launched. I didn't have my DR's on anyway so I probably would have just spun. My first race against a Lexus! Comments, opinions, flaming welcome! TorchedStealth 09-07-2006, 05:02 PM Nice race. It would be interesting to see how it would have played out if you went longer. silentscreams85 09-08-2006, 12:15 AM those is300s have the 2jz out of the supra (n/a) they run low 15s high 14s that woulda been a good race ^_^ my99cavy 09-08-2006, 12:19 AM Probably would have been close but I think the IS300 would have won it. 209 SRT 09-08-2006, 12:34 AM just a few questions......what do you have done to your j-body....and how does an asian guy look like from tokyo drift.... Igovert500 09-08-2006, 04:31 AM So you both accelerated quicker than normal to 45? Maybe I'm not envisioning this right, but that doesn't seem like much of a race. The only race I've ever stopped at was against a Mustang when I was on my donut and had sufficiently beat him to 55 or so. I think in the longrun, the Lexus may have had you on this one. :dunno: cavaliercrazy 09-08-2006, 11:47 AM We definetly raced, but if I get anymore tickets I'll lose my license for a year! (yikes) So thats why I let off early. He kept going, but it was obvious that I let off. I also had my 220lb friend with me and the Lexus driver was alone. And I had my spare/jack in for some ungodly reason...lol and my TD04 Turbo. that write thur gotta b an eazy 25 lbs!!! haha Maybe I'll run into him again someday and actually keep going. 209 SRT: 2004 Cavalier AEM Cold Air Intake Pacesetter Ceramic Coated Header MagnaFlow Hi-Flow Cat Borla straight through muffler 2 1/4" piping Lightweight Crank Pulley Lightweight alt pulley 97SLGT 09-08-2006, 12:47 PM Overall the IS is still way heavier. Would'va been nice to know the outcome if you guys went heads-up. SO what, you guys just raced until the end of 1st gear? :) Igovert500 09-08-2006, 01:05 PM Just remember you can still get a ticket even if you let off at the speed limit. They can still ticket you for street racing and exhibition of acceleration...true story my99cavy 09-08-2006, 02:20 PM Just remember you can still get a ticket even if you let off at the speed limit. They can still ticket you for street racing and exhibition of acceleration...true story:werd: I'm speaking from experience on this one. :grinno: Sleepr awd 09-08-2006, 02:29 PM that's not bad for a cavi. cavaliercrazy 09-08-2006, 02:49 PM Just remember you can still get a ticket even if you let off at the speed limit. They can still ticket you for street racing and exhibition of acceleration...true story Whoa! I forgot all about that. Geez, if I would have known that I would have either kept going or not raced at all. But I love seeing the look on people face if I win. Some people are addicted to drugs... some to alcohol, but me... I'm addicted to racing! I guess I had a relapse. lol that's not bad for a cavi. Thanks! my99cavy 09-08-2006, 02:51 PM I'm addicted to racing!
