To make it short & sweet here's the situation (quick chronology):
1. Check engine light (cel) comes on twice a month for about 6 months.

2. vehicle won't run, replaced cat. conv @ 31k miles, runs great.

3. CEL still comes on, diagnostic code said o2 sensor. Replaced that @ 32k miles.

4. CEL still comes on, diagnostice code says camshaft sensor needs replacement!

:banghead: What the heck is going on? All I've spent so far is $60.00 for o2 sensor & Isuzu payed over $1600 for tow & new cat. conv. but sooner or later this s___t is going to cost me dearly!!
Could it just be a dirty GRV valve?
Also, why wouldn't dealship change out problem causing bad cat. conv. while changing cat. conv?

What year is the vehicle and what are your total miles now? The federal warranty for the cat is something like 8yr/80K. If you are out of warranty on other components, maybe they will only change the cat under warranty?

Vehicle is an '02 Rodeo Sport w/ daowoe 4 cylinder engine. Yes, the cat. conv. was covered. WhY IS MY CHECK EGNINE LIGHT ON?

How many miles?

In the 4 cylinder engine, you don't want to mess with a broken timing belt. I believe it is an interference motor, which means internal engine damage can occur with a break of the timing belt.

The camshaft position sensor code can come up for 2 reasons:
a) The timing is off. If you haven't replaced the belt lately, then the belt has jumped a tooth or stretched and needs to be replaced. Again, ASAP. If you're still at 30K or so, I doubt it's the belt. Is it running good?
b) The camshaft position sensor is actually faulty and needs to be replaced.
Without the actual code, it's hard to say which is the case.
Who gave you the code? The dealer?

:screwy: I got the diagnostic from AutoZone. It was free. They said it was the camshaft sensor, bank 1 low input. The CEL only comes maybe once a week for 6 hours. The funny thing is when I'm hauling extra weight or more people in the SUV the CEL goes on. Then turns off within hours. By the way, the vehicle has 33k miles and runs good for a 4 banger.
Any comments, suggestions based on this information or the above info??

Apparently it is common for the CPS to fail in your engine.

cam sensor is a very common problem on the 4 cyl follow th wire at the top front of the valve cover it will lead you to the sensor thing is after you replace it you will have to take it to your local dealer tell them you replaced it and you need them to do the relearn proceedure for you I cant imagine the m charging much for this for it takes about one to two minutes to do it
