Weapon-R Short Ram Intake? Good or Bad?ICYUNVM3 09-04-2006, 04:20 PM As you can see, I'm new! Anyways, I own a 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix SE (3.1L) and I was wondering if there are any other GP owners who are familiarized with or have installed the "Weapon-R short-ram intake" ? I'm debating on whether or not I should buy it. It's the ONLY performance intake I could find for my car. I would've liked a CAI but I just don't think there's enough room in my engine compartment to fit one in. I've been doing quite a bit of research and I've found customers that are rather disappointed in it's performance and I've found customers who "couldn't possibly be anymore pleased" to have it. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. richtazz 09-05-2006, 07:01 AM Welcome to AF. Do you have a link to a picture of this intake. If it's a short one with a cone filter on it, don't bother, For a CAI or new intake to work properly, it has to be shielded from the hot air under the hood. If not, any possible or theoretical gains will be nullified by it allowing hot air to be drawn in. Compound that with the cone filter allowing more dirt into the engine, and it's advantage is nil. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
